We are an independent, family run record shop located in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

The Vinyl Countdown is an independent record shop in Whitchurch, Shropshire. We started life as a small unit in a local antiques emporium in September 2023 and just under a year later took the big step to open our own shop, in August 2024. We are passionate about our small community and love to get involved in as many local events as possible including the yearly Blackberry Fair. In April 2025 we participated for the first time in Record Store day and had great success. We sell a wide selection of new and pre-loved vinyl, ranging from metal to rap (and everything in between!). We also sell music related items, merchandise and vinyl accessories. Come in for a chat, browse and listen to some great music and enjoy refreshments in our in-store cafe, Frankie's!
